Why do I love Etsy? In a world of big-box stores and generic design, it's an instant connection to unique pieces from niche designers. And, the prices are typically great. Here are eight pieces I've found on Etsy for recent projects because why should I be the only one to have fun shopping? (Just click on the image if you see something you like.)
This gorgeous walnut table for the beach house project I just finished made the living room come alive. Gideon, the designer, adjusted the dimensions to fit the space, providing almost daily updates on his progress.
This table is a great example of one of my favorite Etsy features. It's easy to message Etsy shop owners when I see something that almost works to tell them what I need and see if they can help. Often, they're excited by the opportunity to customize a product or point me to something in their shop I hadn't seen that works perfectly, so don't hesitate to ask.

Etsy is my go-to for custom pillows. With a crazy array of styles from mud cloth to vintage kilim to Kelly Wearstler, you'll find something you love. This blue and white pillow was another piece I used at the beach house.
Kintamani pillows...I'd never heard of you but then I had to have you.
For my clients who wanted a little understated Hollywood Regency style, I chose a Kelly Wearstler pattern paired with a more traditional line by Schumacher.
(Remember, typically, you're just buying pillow covers, so pick up an insert on Amazon that's 2" bigger in height and width than the pillow you ordered and you're all set!)
These clients also wanted a vintage bar cart. Rather than drive endlessly around LA to find the right one, I checked out the antique stores on Etsy and found a great piece.
The interior of this cabinet is painted gold. I love that.
I was on what felt like an endless hunt for a great-looking standing desk that would hold it's own with the other furniture in the room. Turns out, two different Etsy spots combined to make the perfect solution. The desktop is butcher block made of Costa Rican hardwoods. The bottom? Sawhorse legs from Norway. Totally international and completely fabulous. Once again, I was able to talk to each designer about the dimensions I needed and they adjusted the top and the legs to make it work!
Last but not least: removable wallpaper. Get all the visual impact without the drama of trying to peel it off the wall later. My clients, who are renting, wanted a modern Scandinavian feel for their bedroom. This was the perfect accent to create a focal wall behind the bed. Removable wallpaper is such a good way to give a room a fresh look without committing for all eternity.
I hope they include that cable-knit throw with our wallpaper order...
