This room achieves an impressive balancing act with a few smart moves. Why does it work? Follow the arrows.
1. Like a mullet, it’s business in the front, party in the back. If the bold color was in the bedding, you wouldn’t notice a neutral wall and floor. Instead, the soft bedding and warm wood floors are highlighted by the gorgeous wall color.
2. The overstuffed pillows and luxuriously full duvet feel visually rich, just like the blue on the wall.
3. The plant and ethereal pendant light add a little more drama but using more natural colors. This keeps the blue from overwhelming the bed by repeating the neutral tones in a few more places.
4. The textured effect in the paint makes it feel soft and organic like the bedding.
